Raksan Dances!

The solo programme of the exceptional dancer Raksan from Berlin awaits you in the course of the 10th anniversary programme of our festival. Contemporary Oriental Dance at its best and exiting new dance excursions will be presented by charismatic dancer Raksan, who can look back on a manifold artistic career in varietés, theatres etc. and as a member of the successful "Oasis Danse Ensemble".

Helena Reads…

This will be one more highlight before the dance performance: Author Helena Lehmann will read from her recent artist's biography „LA JANA". La Jana was an actress with an enigmatic personality who acted in famous films like "The Tiger of Eshnapur" or "The Indian Tomb" in the thirties. Lehmann will give an insight into her eventful life. (lecture in German)

Raksan

Being an intoxicating solo artist and experienced choreographer, Raksan creates an insisting dance imagery which is full of strength and self-confident eroticism, artistically based on the fusion of the movement vocabulary of Ballet, of Modern Dance and of Jazz, together with the dance tradition and soul of the Oriental Dance: She is an exceptional dancer of a high professionalism whose force of expression is impressing and moving.

Helena Lehmann (Germany)
Helena Lehmann

Helena Lehmann is known as being a lively presenter at the World of Orient Gala Shows and at many more national and international events. This time, she will present a completely different aspect of herself. Being a very empathetic author, she has approached the life and work of the actress and dancer La Jana and will read from her book "La Jana" (in German). So we can look forward to an exiting and outstanding evening.

„La Jana“
La Jana

The dancer from the films "The Indian Tomb" and "The Tiger of Eshnapur" is beautiful, mystic and exotic, enchanting the film-going public with her lascivious, snake-like movements and her mystic and magic aura. Helena Lehman has approached this complex dancer identity and discovered a multi-facetted woman: The exotic artist with her ups and downs as well as her life in private.
